July 22, 2008 I began my first sculpture classes from Willy Wang (his website)
Our model (she is an expectant professional ballerina due in September 2008)

This is from 8-17-08 work with eyes, ears, hair and base work to finish yet.
It's not an exact likeness, but for my first bust under Willy Wang's
sculpture and drawing instructions, it is a big improvement over my first bust
shown in archive without any instruction.
On July 26, 2008 I built and assembled my first homemade portable sculpture stand
which sits atop my Shimpo Banding Wheel - and in this image, atop my slabroller.
See the necessary air conditioner?

Two boards 16"x16"x3/4" are used with shims to vary height of work while stand is secured on banding wheel.
Shims are trimmed excess from cutting squares and one layer will clear flange that holds galvanized pipe.
Any size of shims can be used as pipe is about 20" (kiln's height capacity) and these are placed for viewing purposes only.
More are better placed for supporting the top square evenly.
